Volleyball Alberta changes

Volleyball Alberta has updated the process for the 2026 indoor season. The new process is divided into three phases:

1. Early Re-Signing (Evergreen is not participating)

2. Re-Signing

3. Fall Tryouts

4. Winter Tryouts

The following dates and information provide a general overview of the schedules and timelines. Evergreen Volleyball Club will release our specific gym schedules for open gyms, fall, and winter tryouts on our website and on Instagram. Open gyms

Prior to phases 2-4 laid out by Volleyball Alberta, Evergreen Volleyball club will host open gyms. This is an opportunity for athletes to meet the coaches, experience a new club environment, and get touches before tryouts. Open gym registration will be posted on Teamlink.

Re-signing

• September 2–4

  • Re-signing for 18U athletes only. Athletes can re-sign with their club from last season using a Volleyball Alberta (VA) Letter of Intent (LOI) form.

    • At this time, Evergreen Volleyball will be offering a 18U Women’s program and will participate in the re-signing process.

    • Athletes must register as a Youth Competitive Player in the club’s Sportlomo portal by September 5 at noon.

    • Club administrators must add these signed LOI athletes to their team roster sheets and post names on club websites or social media by September 6.

• September 6

  • Club Open House Information Day is held in a large shared space in Edmonton. Come stop by and say hi!

• September 15–17:
  Re-signing for 13U–14U athletes only. Athletes may re-sign with their previous club using a VA LOI form.

  • As a new club in the 13U & 14U space, Evergreen cannot re-sign athletes

Fall tryouts

• Please note: All athletes must hold the Youth Development Player, a tryout membership with Volleyball Alberta and complete the VA membership consent package prior to participating in tryouts.

• 18U Fall Tryouts

  • Tryout Window: September 7–14, 2025

  • Registration Deadline (Youth Competitive Player): September 21, 2025

  • Club Roster Submission Deadline: November 19, 2025

• 13U & 14U Fall Tryouts

  • Tryout Window: September 21–28, 2025

  • Registration Deadline (Youth Competitive Player): October 5, 2025

  • Club Roster Submission Deadline: November 19, 2025

Age Groups for the 2024/25 Season

• 12U – born between September 1, 2013 and December 31, 2014

• 13U – born between September 1, 2012 and December 31, 2013

• 14U – born between September 1, 2011 and December 31, 2012

• 15U – born between September 1, 2010 and December 31, 2011

• 16U – born between September 1, 2009 and December 31, 2010

• 17U – born between September 1, 2008 and December 31, 2009

• 18U – born between September 1, 2007 and December 31, 2008
